Yolanda Ford

Personal History

Mayor Yolanda Ford has been a resident of Missouri City for more than 40 years. She has a passion for public service, community development, design and entrepreneurship. Professionally, Ford’s background is in urban planning, architecture, community development and government contract management. Ford holds a Masters of Architecture (M. Arch) from Prairie View A & M University and a Bachelor of Science (B.S) from the University of Houston.

Community Involvement

Ford is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the American Planning Association (APA). She has served on the Colony Crossing Homeowners Association (CCHOA) board and is currently a member of the Texas Parkway Alliance (TPA) and A. Phillip Randolph Institute (APRI). Yolanda Ford was elected to the Mayoral position on December 8, 2018.  Prior to that time, she was elected as the District A City Councilmember on June 15, 2013 to November 2018.  From November 2017 to November 2018, Yolanda was appointed to serve as Mayor Pro Tem of City Council.
